“Aut pax aut bellum” – “either peace or war”
The motto of Henry Laithwaite’s Scottish ancestors, the Gunn family
A wine to bring peace amidst a chaotic world
The great Australian red blend; Coonawarra Cabernet meets Barossa Shiraz.
Henry Laithwaite named this sumptuous red after his Scottish ancestors (on his mother’s side), the Wilson Gunn clan. They were noted both for their ferocity in times of conflict and their tranquillity in times of peace, hence their motto “either peace or war”.
This is a RedHeads classic and its name dates a long way back in our range… to 2005! Then, Henry used to work in RedHeads, learning the dark arts of the winemaker. He’s moved on a bit since then!
